Kevin Saxon

Kevin Saxon is a distinguished member of the South Florida design community, recognized for his extensive portfolio and discerning clientele across the domains of sports, entertainment, business, and finance. His proficiency encompasses a wide array of projects, including a historic pre-war brownstone in Chicago, a contemporary Intracoastal compound in South Florida, a 16-structure working farm in southern Michigan, and custom yachts located in northwestern Italy and the United States. He has a particular passion for structural and landscape design as well as collaborative art initiatives
Previously, Kevin owned a retail interior design boutique in Chicago’s renowned Gold Coast neighborhood and specialized in importing art and antiquities from around the globe. Over time, he observed that the term “interior design” no longer adequately reflected the scope and complexity of his work. His practice has since evolved into what he defines as interdisciplinary design—a collaborative methodology that integrates multiple disciplines and perspectives. This approach may incorporate expertise from engineering, psychology, anthropology, automation, and other fields to deliver comprehensive, user-centered solutions to complex challenges. It has fostered an enhanced functional understanding of all aspects of design, from architecture and landscape architecture to advanced design principles.
Kevin’s design philosophy is anchored in his formative education, shaped by the modernist tenets of Louis Henri Sullivan—mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright and originator of the phrase “form follows function.” This principle remains central to Kevin’s practice. He emphasizes achieving balance among scale, texture, and proportion while addressing each client’s technical requirements, comfort, collections, artwork, and distinct aesthetic preferences.
He asserts that exemplary design should engage all the senses, creating environments that inspire visually and promote a sense of ease. Above all, Kevin approaches design as a collaborative endeavor, ensuring that the experience is as gratifying as the final product.
